Arrangement II (Something special)

Experience a wedding ceremony as to times of the middle age with a festive menu
either in the great hall of the castle or in the servants’ building.
Celebrate a “Hohezit” between foundation walls which are several meters thick that has not taken place in such a way for a long time.
Take your dinner at rough wooden tables served by maids and servants wearing authentic garments.
The atmosphere of the early middle ages is waiting for you – make off yourself into the year of 1194.

Ceremony and event:

Festive welcome of the bridal couple and their guests by the Truchsess of Waldburg and his trumpeters; all wearing medieval garments

The Wedding Dinner (Hochzeits-Tafeley)

Bread from the stone oven, mince meat and lard

Curd cheese with herbs from the castle’s garden, smoked bacon and potatoes

‘Wedding Soup’ with pasta squares, marrow balls, royale (Eierstich) and semolina dumpling

Soured compote of pears

Best pieces of wild and tame deers of the farm and of the air
with mixed vegetables and dumplings with bacon

Fine semolina pudding with red fruit jelly made of strawberries

Selection of cheese from a wooden plate and fruits

Provision

Menu on plates served at the table by maids and servants
The tables are laid with earthern dishes and a knife.
You will wear a tunic of the early middle age while having your menu.
Musical entertainment of the middle age (not live)
A herald introduces to you the eating habits of the early middle age and will entertain you
in an extraordinary way in the old high German language during the dinner.
After having finished the main course you will be guided around the castle’s museum.
On request these tours will be offered also in English or French.
